Dante Director Professional is a web-based management tool for remote administration of AV installations ranging in size from 50 devices up to many thousands. Released by Audinate, the original developers of the Dante audio networking platform, the new software addresses the growing challenge of maintaining distributed AV infrastructure at scale, centralising monitoring, device management and security authentication in a single platform accessible through a browser.

As organisations expand their AV footprints across campuses, office buildings and global facilities, keeping track of large numbers of networked devices continues to grow more complex. Dante Director Professional enables IT and AV teams to monitor device health, diagnose issues remotely and keep systems running without requiring on-site attendance.

Distributed Network Management

“Organisations are deploying large, widespread Dante-enabled AV systems at a greater scale than has been seen before,” said Laurence Crew, Product Manager at Audinate. “Dante Director Professional gives technical teams the tools they need to manage these distributed networks efficiently while maintaining the security and reliability that critical communication systems demand.”

The platform includes a web-based dashboard with real-time visibility into device status, network performance and system health across all sites. Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication and role-based access controls restrict network changes to authorised team members and protect corporate AV signals from unauthorised routing.

The software scales to support installations from a few rooms to thousands of devices distributed globally. API and webhook capabilities allow Dante Director Professional to connect with existing IT support ticketing systems and monitoring platforms, helping to consolidate incident response workflows.

Extended log-file retention with latency graphing also helps technical teams identify and resolve intermittent issues that might otherwise go undetected.

Early Adopters

So far, users across higher education and global enterprise have reported greater visibility into their Dante networks since adopting the platform.

“At Rutgers University – New Brunswick, we run close to 300 general-purpose classes and operate learning environments across four campuses spread over 12 miles. Dante Director Professional has become an invaluable tool for remote monitoring and diagnosis of our AV systems,” said Ed Rebert, AV Systems Manager at Rutgers.

Spotify is also among the early adopters. “Dante Director Professional gives us full control over our global Dante network from one place,” said Aljohn Mogol, Senior AV Engineer at Spotify. “This makes a huge difference because, although many of our remote offices don’t employ AV or IT staff on-site, we can still monitor, manage and fix Dante-related issues from anywhere.”
