Preymaker Mark Sanna

Creative studio Preymaker welcomes colourist Mark Sanna to its team. Among his credits as a colourist are campaigns for Verizon, Google, Ralph Lauren and McDonalds, and most recently Xfinity's highly acclaimed 'Aviators' from director Kathryn Bigelow and cinematographer Greig Fraser, both Academy Award winners.

As one of the world's first 100% cloud-native studios, hiring Mark fortifies Preymaker's pioneering Colour in the Cloud service, launched in 2021. He will be available to collaborate in person with directors, cinematographers and creatives at Preymaker's new Manhattan studio as well as to host colour sessions and collaborate with clients based anywhere in the world using Preymaker's virtual Cloud-Stage.

Mark brings extensive creative experience in lighting, compositing, design and animation, making him nimble as a Colorist and able to call on the creative team and tools in Preymaker's fully integrated creative cloud pipeline from beginning to completion of any project.

“We are thrilled to have Mark join our colour team,” said Angus Kneale, Chief Creative at Preymaker. "Mark's past experience is invaluable, and he has made a name for himself crafting high quality content and creating stunning work for clients. Mark is highly collaborative and works closely with directors, creatives and cinematographers to create truly memorable work.

“Mark is also excited about innovating and defining new ways of doing things. The way we approach colour gives our clients a the advantage of allowing them to work on colour throughout the entire creative process, not just at the beginning or the end. They can work with Mark virtually, in real-time, at the highest quality from anywhere in the world through the entire creative process."

"Preymaker offered me an opportunity to carve out a unique role for myself," Mark said. "VFX and colour are best when integrated into the same pipeline, so I'm able to refine and make adjustments throughout production without having to break the VFX or finishing flow of work.

“Colour in Preymaker's Cloud gives our clients a huge advantage in quality and speed. As a colourist I get the best of both worlds. I can collaborate in-person with directors, cinematographers and creatives working out of the colour suite in our new SoHo Studio and I get to use the latest in cutting edge technology. I always enjoy the agile experimentation every project entails."

Mark's body of work shares a common cinematic aesthetic, but isn't limited to any one style. He says he prefers to remain adaptable in this fast moving space, work collaboratively and apply a design-focused method to each project's needs.

He has served as colourist for a number of short films, including the award-winning Foreign People, directed by Michelle Roginsky. Set against beautiful landscapes and a rich colour palette, the film depicts a Ukrainian/Russian couple whose relationship unravels as they drive toward Tijuana to cross the border at the onset of the war in Ukraine. He also was colourist on the tactile and hypnotic immersive short Winter, director and artist Jamie Scott's latest seasonal time-lapse film which was shot over five years across New York State and Montreal, and on music videos for artists Pink Siifu and Fly Anakin

Preymaker is the company behind some of the past year's most innovative and noteworthy work including Google's 'American Gothic' selfie parody and FanDuel's new 'Think Like a Player' campaign (W+K Portland), the latter featuring Charles Barkley and a Young Charles Barkley who Preymaker brought to life using the latest in A.I. technology; the multiple award-winning original short film 'BLUE’, created entirely in the cloud using Unreal Engine's real-time technology; and the 'Liquidity Maze' VR Experience for State Street Global Advisors and McCann New York.

Preymaker works in linear content, along with interactive immersive media and Metaverse. Other recent work from Preymaker includes the integrated creative campaign for Volkswagen's fully electric ID, Buzz, a design-led effort inspired by the original iconic VW bus, The Lord of The Rings 'The Rings of Power' promo for Kathryn Bigelow and the Sanofi-Aventis spot, ‘Wolf in Sheep's Clothing’ which features an entirely CGI photoreal wolf.
