Digital Domain, award-winning visual effects studio, has appointed Sudhir Reddy as President of its Global VFX Business. Sudhir succeeds Lala Gavgavian, who has been with the company for 18 years, including serving the last four years as President and COO.
A 27-year veteran of the VFX industry, Sudhir has spent the last 15 years helping Digital Domain expand its international presence, including leading the launch of its studios in Hyderabad and managing the Vancouver and Montreal studios. Known for bridging creative vision with operational excellence, he has overseen global productions for feature films, episodic content and emerging media, earning a reputation for delivering ambitious projects worldwide.
Before joining Digital Domain, Sudhir held creative roles at reputed studios in India and Flux Animation Studios in New Zealand before transitioning to a Senior Production and Management role at Reliance MediaWorks in India and Los Angeles, managing large-scale VFX pipelines and cross-border teams.
"Digital Domain has always been at the forefront of visual storytelling," said Sudhir. "I'm excited to lead this talented global team as we continue to position Digital Domain as the leading VFX services provider. We will concentrate on our core expertise, specifically innovative VFX for feature films and episodic content. We aim to build a strong platform that supports our ongoing growth and innovation, uniquely combining our creative talent and technology to set ourselves apart in the industry."
The leadership change follows careful deliberation by Digital Domain's Board of Directors and key investors. "This was not a decision we made lightly," said William Wong, Chairman of the Board & CEO of Digital Domain. "We are confident that Sudhir's unique combination of creative insight and operational expertise positions him to guide Digital Domain through its next phase of growth." Lala Gavgavian, who oversaw operational initiatives that strengthened the company's global infrastructure and client partnerships, departs the company with deep gratitude from the board and staff. "Lala's contributions over nearly two decades have been foundational," William noted.
Sudhir will report directly to William Wong, with EVP of VFX Business Gabrielle Gourrier and Executive Producer & Head of Production Eric Kimelton reporting to him. Together, they will support global client relations, project execution and studio operations.
This transition is a oart of Digital Domain's efforts to expand its global presence while maintaining its reputation for delivering innovative visual effects for film, television, and emerging media. www.digitaldomain.com
