Cascade was co-founded by a team experienced in the production of film and virtual production projects such Avengers: Endgame, No Time To Die, Wicked, Masters of the Air and Pinocchio. Their purpose is to give creators a continuous production platform with integrated tools to develop, manage and scale productions from first idea to final delivery.
Cascade is powered by a proprietary agentic AI framework, trained and built to understand the filmmaking process. Acting as a creative assistant throughout production, Cascade helps creators develop ideas, build assets, manage projects and orchestrate workflows through natural interaction. Through its contextual understanding, it can automate routine tasks and analyse data to speed up workflows, but creative decisions are left up to the filmmaking team – that is, people.
Built for Scaling
Unlike other AI tools, Cascade is a platform of tools that has, in particular, been built for scaling productions and IP. Once Cascade knows the project, because the system is based on story, script and assets, creators can maintain character consistency, visual coherence and IP integrity as the project grows – from shot to shot, series to series, and across expanding storyworlds and sequels.
Equally important, it manages multiple specialist agents from other generative models (Runway, Kling, Seedance and so on) which will work simultaneously on the production.
Earlier on, the use of AI tools for film projects has lacked continuity between clips, and between clips and images. Cascade brings AI-generated content, existing creative assets and live-action production together into the one platform. The project is presented as a complete pipeline with the script as the foundation and, instead of stopping to build a library, assets are extracted from that script. The resulting connectedness makes it possible to scale and from there, to produce detailed versions that do not conflict.
The Production Environment
The result is a production environment where individual creators or agile teams can build everything from teasers, trailers and advertising campaigns to episodic series, animation, films and music videos without moving between isolated tools, subscriptions or workflows. For any of these outputs, users can work from purpose-specific timelines – similar to those in an NLE – and use built-in collaboration tools
Cascade co-founders’ credits over the past decade have called for innovation that has led to and helped advance new forms of filmmaking and TV series production. CEO Simon Windsor was co-founder and former co-CEO of Dimension Studio. CPO Junaid Baig was former lead of DNEG rendering and pipeline whose credits include Avengers: Endgame, Tenet, Fantastic Beasts and No Time To Die.
Darren Hopkins, technology entrepreneur, was former CFO of Dimension Studio, and CEO of AI-focused investment firm Mollyroe PLC. Cascade has also appointed games industry pioneer Dominic Wheatley, co-founder and former CEO of Eidos, as Chairman.
