The EVS eShop is an online platform where broadcasters and production teams can buy and configure their own On-Demand Activation licenses, improving flexibility and budget control.

EVS services learning center

The new EVS eShop is an online platform enabling broadcasters, service providers and production engineers to purchase, configure and manage On-Demand Activation (ODA) licenses.

Autonomous Scalability

With the eShop, EVS customers can scale their production infrastructure autonomously as requirements change. The service helps increase agility by allowing users to optimise resource utilisation themselves, and maintain cost efficiency without compromising performance.

“The EVS eShop makes it possible to respond instantly to changing production needs, whether that means adding replay channels at short notice, upgrading temporarily to UHD for a flagship broadcast, or enabling advanced tools for a special project,” said Jean-Charles Drappier, SVP Portfolio & Business Innovation at EVS. “Broadcasters and media companies today need to do more with less, and the eShop directly supports that reality. It removes the need for upfront investments in features that aren’t used continuously, delivering both operational flexibility and smarter budget control.”

Accessible through a centralized interface, an organisation can use the EVS eShop to activate temporary licenses and monitor usage across their infrastructure. Built-in management features including role-based permissions and approval workflows help technical and finance teams stay aligned while maintaining control and traceability.

Supported Products

At launch, the eShop supports several of the core EVS products including the XT-VIA live production server, and XS-VIA for broadcast centre and studio operations. In order to give producers greater flexibility and agility, EVS eShop can be used to extend the servers’ channel counts, upgrade output resolution to UHD and activate packages that include Super Motion, Advanced Super Motion and Split Screen options.

VIA XSquare and XFile3 are also supported, adding transcoding destinations, enabling SDR/HDR conversion, or adjusting frame rate settings to meet multi-format delivery requirements. VIA Xsquare works as centralised orchestration for various job requests, including high-speed transcoding operationsIt simplifies media processing in multiple formats, and to simultaneous destinations such as playout, archive, social media and post. Processing power can also be scaled and orchestrated.

Through the eShop, users of the Xeebra multi-review (VAR) system can activate AI-assisted offside tools or Xeebra Insight user licenses for medical and performance analysis teams. Made for remote officiating and venue control rooms, Xeebra accesses multiple camera angles instantly and displays precisely synchronised, frame-accurate playback.

Rollout with Early Adopters

Following a rollout with early adopters, customer feedback has been positive regarding the platform’s value for broadcast production

“With the eShop, our teams can handle scaling completely on their own,” said François-Xavier Van Leeuw, Manager Support Operations, Events, and Transmission at RTBF. “In just a few steps, we select the licenses we need exactly when we need them. It’s made our complete production workflow more agile and predictable.”

Julien Périlleux, CEO at AV systems integrator Fréquence, commented, “Owing to the EVS eShop, we have gained real flexibility. We can now optimise our setup by better utilising the potential of each server on demand, and respond quickly to last minute requests.”

Regarding EVS’s channel partners, the eShop means they can provision licenses for customers, while maintaining visibility across the accounts they support. This approach strengthens partner–customer relationships, and results in a simpler experience for end users.

The eShop is available now at viaportal.evs.com, where existing customers can log in using their current accounts to view the catalogue and begin managing licenses immediately.

Looking ahead, EVS plans to evolve and expand the platform with more of their products and features, promoting the use of on-demand scalability and helping broadcasters and media companies to stay agile in a dynamic media landscape. https://evs.com/oc
