Panasonic’s New 4K Compact Streams Live via NDI with IP Control
The Panasonic AG-CX350 camcorder is built with NDI | HX connectivity as the first in a new Series of cameras capable of live streaming applications, combined with high quality image production for professional broadcast. This first model, the AG-CX350, achieves uninterrupted video transmission and camera control over IP suitable for live events and web distribution. It can also be built into larger systems, working alongside Panasonic PTZ cameras equipped with NDI | HX and the Panasonic Live Production Centre and all-in-one switcher, the AV-HLC100.
Users can set up a Live IP production workflow: using IP control functionality, outputting a live HD stream during recording, and supporting NDI | HX connection. For use of NDI | HX, an activation key code supplied by NewTek is required.
On the imaging side, the AG-CX350 records 4K/HDR 10bit video at variable frame rates – UHD up to 60/50 fps, and full HD up to 120/100 fps for slow motion. It has a 1.0” MOS sensor with effective 15m pixels, and HDR functionality supporting HLG standard. Its fixed 24.5mm lens captures a wide angle, low distortion image, with 20x optical zoom out to 490mm and up to 32x intelligent zoom out to 784mm.
The camera’s build is compact and lightweight at 1.9kg, with low power consumption of 17W. It records to dual SDXC card slots. It includes simultaneous SDI and HDMI output ports, and records high resolution audio with 24bit PCM. When recording, users can select a high sensitivity mode, and choose from eight gamma modes, including HLG.

For various workflows, 4:2:0 10bit HEVC Long GOP compression is used for UHD at 60/50 fps, and 4:2:2 10bit ALL-Intra or Long GOP for UHD at 30p/25. The UHD 10bit HEVC recording can be played back smoothly for reviews on a computer with INTEL Core i7 processors.
A 5-axis hybrid image stabiliser supports normal, stable and pan/tilt modes. Video recording outputs LCD and EVF simultaneously to extreme-bright LCD and high resolution OLED EVF displays. business.panasonic.com.au
