Cinegy’s realtime ingest application Capture PRO, in its new 24.1 release, simplifies multi-format ingest at multiple resolutions, enhancing support for UHD production and Avid DNxHR.

Cinegy Capture PRO

Cinegy Capture PRO is used to record real-time video reliably and securely, and simultaneously make it available across a business as quickly as possible. Simplifying operations, a series of processing engines can be controlled as a gang from a common user interface, setting up and controlling ingest from SDI, IP (such as SRT, MPEG-TS, ST-2110) and NDI sources

Proxies and further versions of productions in multiple resolutions and codecs – alongside the raw or archive media format – can all be created at the same time. These may be stored locally or written to one or multiple remote locations, to avoid storage failures. Required metadata is also automatically generated and stored to the media asset management system.

In response to a growing interest in Ultra HD production, Capture PRO version 24.1 supports the new high-density Deltacast SDI ingest cards, allowing more 6G or 12G-SDI UHD/4K video channels to be captured with a smaller hardware footprint. The new Blackmagic Design Decklink IP cards are now supported as well, adding another option to capture SMPTE ST-2110 video.

New features have been added for users working in the Avid DNxHR file format. These include full support for MXF Op1A. Capture PRO can also scale inputs down to 720p, and convert 10-bit Ultra HD colour to 8-bit, when encoding from full HD or UHD sources. Simultaneous encoding of multiple formats is possible here as well, while maintaining computational efficiency.

Live ingest, from SDI or from IP sources, is a central part of modern broadcasting, and with remote production growing in importance, many users need to bring in a lot of streams concurrently,” said Michael Zolotuskiy, Head of Development at Cinegy. “Capture PRO is developed as capable, practical ingest platform, not just capturing streams but performing the necessary transforms and proxy generation to make them instantly available.

“Under our continuous development program, this release responds directly to requests we hear from our users. For instance, Capture PRO will accept an MPEG-TS or NDI stream that does not comply with the capture engine settings, and make the necessary adjustments to achieve a successful recording.” www.cinegy.com
